Our Bangkok bicycle fleet recently saw exciting upgrades with over 100 brand-new Trek bicycles. Earlier in 2024, we contacted ProBike Thailand, Trek's official Bangkok distributor, to order the latest Domane all-road bicycles – in carbon, aluminum, and the top-spec Shimano Di2 versions – together with the new Trek Dual Sport hybrids sporting burlier tires ready for almost any terrain.
We’re thrilled to see these brand-new adventure machines out the door on all Thailand tours! Most tours will feature the Trek Dual Sport hybrids while road cycling-specific trips have the new Domane AL5 aluminium road bike as our standard hire bike – read more about each of the new bikes below.
DOMANE SL6 WITH Di2
Shimano's Di2 electronic drivetrain makes shifting near effortless and amazingly smooth, a huge advantage when racking up those miles in the saddle on a SpiceRoads tour. Made with Trek's latest OCLV 500 series carbon in a light, aerodynamic frame with the road-smoothing rear IsoSpeed feature to soak up the chatter, the new Domane SL6 might be the ultimate road adventure machine for your next trip with us.
DOMANE SL5
Sleek and comfortable! From an integrated cockpit to the fatigue-reducing IsoSpeed rear, the Domane SL5 is an amazing all-road machine that will take you far and wide, even on the rough stuff! This new carbon bike sports the ever-reliable Shimano 105 drivetrain and lofty 32 mm. tires to handle almost any road.
DOMANE AL5
Big tire clearance and all-day road comfort geometry make the Domane AL5 the new workhorse at SpiceRoads! Made from Trek's Alpha Aluminum, it's a capable speedster perfect for our road tours, equipped with a 12-speed Shimano 105 drivetrain for reliable shifting, this aluminium road machine is more than ready for any adventure.
DUAL SPORT 3
The perfect hybrid for getting off the beaten path! Our new Dual Sport bikes are a go-anywhere rig sporting wider wheels and burly gravel tires to soak up the bumps for a comfortable, confident ride on pavement, rail trails, and light dirt paths. Comes equipped with the new and simpler 1x Shimano CUES drivetrain to give you a wide range of gears wherever you ride with SpiceRoads.
UPGRADING TO A CARBON BIKE OR SHIMANO DI2?
Already booked one of our new 'standard aluminium' road bikes for your upcoming tour in Thailand? They're great bikes but if you fancy one of our new carbon bikes, upgrade to our Trek Domane SL5 carbon road bike with Shimano 105 mechanical shifting or the Trek Domane SL6 carbon road bike equipped with Shimano 105 Di2 electronic shifting – for a small additional charge, you can try one of these fantastic new bikes.
