SOUTH THAILAND
Our South Thailand tour is a ride amongst spectacular scenery and breathtaking beaches. We ride amidst coconut palms, rubber plantations, and mangroves, exploring this surprisingly diverse and beautiful part of Thailand.
Our journey starts in the little visited province of Trang as we wind our way up the coastline through the dramatic landscapes of Krabi and Phang Nga Bay.
Staying clear of the tourist centres, we will show you the peaceful countryside of Southern Thailand before arriving at Khao Sok National Park, home to a bewildering evergreen forest and massive limestone mountains.
The beautiful beaches of Phuket and the warm waters of the Andaman Sea are welcome reward at our journey's end!
TRIP PROFILE
We ride approximately 500 km (a number of rides are optional) mostly on tarmac roads in reasonable repair. Some of the optional rides are off-road and will challenge inexperienced riders. The trip is point-to-point, apart from two loops, and the ride is fully supported by a SpiceRoads minibus rigged to carry bikes. The minibus will shadow us for the entire journey.
The early rides are on flat terrain, while later stages embrace a few hills.

| Day 1 | Meet at Trang train station or airport. Ride from Trang to Pakmeng. |
| Day 2 | Transfer from Pakmeng and then ride back roads to Tiger temple, Short transfer to Krabi. |
| Day 3 | On and off-road circular ride in Krabi province. |
| Day 4 | Follow plantation trails to Ao Leuk. |
| Day 5 | Morning ride to Phang Nga Bay. Afternoon boat tour to James Bond Island and Phang Nga Bay. |
| Day 6 | Ride to Khao Sok. |
| Day 7 | Off Road loop in Khao Sok National Park. |
| Day 8 | Ride to Khao Lak and then transfer to Phuket. |
| Day 9 | Morning free. Afternoon transfer to Phuket Airport. |

| Road Surface | This tour follows a mix of good asphalt roads and vehicle-width plantation trails, which may be smooth, gritty, stony, rocky, rutted, loose or hard-packed. Plus some optional off-road sections with a few technical sections so some off-road experience would be an advantage but is by no means essential. |
| Support | One or two 8-seat air-conditioned minibuses specially rigged to take bikes and bikers. |

| Staff | SpiceRoads cycling leader, plus English-speaking drivers/mechanics. guide, drivers and assistants. For groups of ten or more an extra local bike guide also joins. |
| Accommodation | Three nights 3-4-star resorts, four nights tourist class resorts or jungle lodges. All hotels have en suite facilities and a/c, except two nights in Khao Sok where there is no a/c. Whenever possible we try to use hotels with charm and local character. |
