CHIANG MAI - CHIANG RAI

This taster of northern Thailand will take you through the spectacular limestone mountains of Chiang Dao and the scenic village of Mae Salak, straddling the Mae Kok River. We follow wonderful trails and back roads that have little traffic and fantastic scenery and each night stay in charming, Thai style lodges with swimming pools to enjoy at the end of our rides.
Thailand has an abundance of waterfalls, caves, rivers and temples and these won’t be missed on our tour. We start the ride at Bua Thong waterfall and then follow country back roads before using a trail cut by elephants through the forest. Our second day begins with a tour of the Chiang Dao caves before heading out into the light and riding among soaring limestone cliffs on a mixture of dirt paths cut by local hill tribes. The third morning we’ll start at a temple retreat the Tub Tao caves and later in the day follow the Mae Kok river to the town of Mae Salak to end one of the most scenic rides of the trip. Our last day we ride an off road trail and then change vehicles to a boat as we hitch a ride on a long-tail boat. You can also spend some time on an elephant before we get back on the bikes and head to Chiang Rai.
TRIP PROFILE
We ride on small back roads with little traffic and some short off road sections. The terrain is undulating with no major climbs, but just in case, our escort vehicle is always close by. This tour is suitable for anyone with some off road biking experience. It is also a great tour for families.
To turn a short trip into a real holiday you can add on our Golden Triangle tour departing from Chiang Rai every Friday and receive a 5% discount on the total price.
